Transparent Thought

Adam Clay

He who thinks lightly
of sentences carved
from the sense
of celestial bodies
will find the weight
of their message
beyond recognition
or rational thought.
All landscapes appear
vast from the confines
of the eye, and movement
of the mind rattles
from the body like
a cough of air in a dark
cavern: on its arrival,
it’s the only thing
there, and when
it’s gone, it was never
there to begin with.
