The cowboy always
looked after himself

and when he went
to find work made

for only him
he was instead

outfitted for a job
that would wear his body

like a hat.
He was very young.

They made a mold of him
then made him everyone.

Cowboys blossoming
mushrooming

shoulders bullish
in the high noon sun.

The cowboy saw himself
through multiplying glass

til his field of vision
was one big self.

And so there were
these others to look after.

Each one saying anything
anything for you.
